Active Ingredients
The pain relief in Herstat GST is primarily provided by the Active Ingredient Camphor, which is included at 3%. Natural Camphor is derived from the leaves and bark of Cinnamomum Camphora tree but it can also be biosynthetically synthesised. Camphor is a highly effective topical pain reliever and is perfect for providing temporary relief of pain and discomfort.
Herstat GST also contains the Active Ingredient Menthol. Menthol contains a range of phenolic compounds such as α-pinene, citronellol, and methyl eugenol. Menthol is included in a wide variety of pharmaceutical preparations and is included in GST for its moderate analgesic properties. It also acts as a natural preservative of the ointment and thus we do not need to use synthetic preservatives within our ointment.
3% Purified Propolis Extract
All Herstat products contain 3% Purified Propolis Extract. Our propolis is all sustainably sourced from the Manitoba region of Canada. We trace all our propolis to source and only obtain our crude propolis from a group of trusted Manitoban beekeepers, who collect excess propolis for us during the honey extraction period. Propolis comprises a range of phytonutrients and in particular an important group of polyphenols, including phenolic acids and flavonoids. These bioflavonoids help preserve the ointment and thus we do not need to include any synthetic preservatives in our preparations. The propolis in Herstat GST also lends the ointment its characteristic and very pleasing aroma.
Causes of genital sores
Genital sores can be caused by the herpes simplex virus. Herstat GST is not a cure for genital herpes and will not eradicate the HSV-1 or HSV-2 herpes virus. If you think you have genital herpes you should consult your doctor. Herstat GST will not prevent an STD. Herstat GST is designed to treat the uncomfortable symptoms of genital sores.
Sores in the genital area can also be caused through various sporting activities, such a cycling, rowing and endurance running. Herstat GST is also an ideal treatment for sports related genital sores.

- Herstat GST is not a treatment or a cure for Genital Herpes (HSV-2) and will not prevent future outbreaks.
- Apply to the affected area frequently, every two hours at least 5 times per day.
- For adults and children 12 years of age and older. Children under 12, consult a doctor or other healthcare professional before use and apply with adult supervision.
