We are motivated by the power of natural ingredients (like our hero ingredient, hive-derived Bee Propolis)
Here’s how we got here...
The story of Dr Sosnowski’s® begins with a scientist and associate professor who was born in Poland and lived and worked in Canada for much of his life: Dr Zenon Sosnowski
Medically and scientifically trained, Dr. Sosnowski dedicated a huge portion of his working life (more than 35 years) to researching the benefits and applications of bee propolis within human healthcare.
As part of his pioneering work, Dr. Sosnowski collaborated on clinical trials in relation to the herpes virus
In doing so, he developed the patented techniques we use today to refine crude Manitoban bee propolis into the purified extracts used in Herstat® ointments for herpes sufferers
All Herstat ointments follow Dr. Sosnowski’s original techniques and use his unique purified propolis extracts from a specific region in Manitoba, Canada
The only way to ensure quality and consistent Propolis is to source it from reliable regions.
We are committed to sourcing and testing Propolis from across the globe. Many of our products - including our original herpes ointments - uses trace to source Propolis that we refine ourselves in Canada. For our dietary supplements we source Propolis that has been tested and refined to consistent standards and from suppliers we trust
All of the Propolis refined in our own facility is gathered sustainably by beekeepers we have longstanding relationships with.
This propolis (from a very specific region in Canada) is removed from the hives during the honey extraction period, when there are no bees in the hive and therefore not causing any harm
The extraction of our Propolis is completed in our own bespoke Propolis Refinery in Winnipeg, Canada.
Our propolis and final products are pesticide tested and triple-checked to ensure they meet our (extremely) high standards of bioflavonoid content.
We refuse to cut corners when it comes to Propolis extraction and refining. It makes the process a lengthy one, but it reflects our commitment to continuing Dr. Sosnowski's proven techniques to this day
