Dr Sosnowski’s to launch Herstat GST – a new OTC treatment for genital sores

Herstat GST is our new-to-market, all-natural OTC registered genital sore treatment.

Our team has been working hard for the last two years on developing Herstat GST – a product that we believe will yield a big following in the Personal Care space in the USA.

GST is not a cure for the herpes virus and will not rid sufferers of genital herpes (HSV-2). However, the product has been designed to treat the uncomfortable symptoms of genital sores, which are often a major side effect of an HSV-2 outbreak. Sufferers of genital sores will often experience attacks of itchiness, burning and pain induced by these sores and Herstat GST has been designed to specifically target and help alleviate these symptoms.

Genital sores are highly prevalent across the United States

Genital herpes is common in the United States – the most recent CDC estimates show there were 572,000 new genital herpes infections in the United States during the year 2018. Comparatively one in six American women aged between 14 & 49 are said to carry the HSV-2 virus which causes genital sores and one in twelve men in the same age group.

Despite it being a common condition, genital herpes sufferers are often subjected to the negative and unwarranted social stigma of the ailment – which is precisely why the packaging for GST has been thoughtfully designed with the consumer’s natural desire to shop in-store with privacy in mind. The innovative packaging of GST has a flip-over back panel, leaving a discreet plain panel at the front allowing the consumer to reach the checkout without the embarrassment of displaying the ultimate purpose of their purchase.

Although we would not advocate it, we know from our extensive global experience within the herpes space that genital herpes sufferers will regularly reach for topical cold sore products, which they will use alongside taking oral prescription meds to treat symptoms of genital sores. We were thus compelled to launch a topical product specifically for this purpose, which could be used alongside oral prescription medications and to fill this unmet need.

Herstat GST will be available in pharmacies from October 2022 and online via the Amazon store.
